After a life-changing fall resulted in nearly two years of immobility, one of our dedicated members embarked on a remarkable journey that would transform not just her body, but her entire life. Her story is a testament to the power of community, dedication, and finding the right support system.

The weight gain following her accident created a devastating cycle. Her body struggled under the excess weight, with her knees, back, and ankles giving in. Heart palpitations became a frightening daily reality, and simple tasks became overwhelming challenges.
"My body could not take the weight anymore. I had heart palpitations and just felt terrible all the time."

"My gym buddy, Wuanita, inspired me to join her for the 5 AM classes. I quickly realised what a difference a bit of exercise first thing in the day can make in your life."

"We have a great 5 AM group where we all support each other so much which is truly amazing and so empowering."

One of her biggest challenges was completely overhauling her eating habits. With limited knowledge about healthy nutrition, she relied on Gobi's guidance to develop sustainable eating practices.
"Changing my eating habits completely was hard as I was clueless and had little to no knowledge as to how to eat well and healthy."
Through meal planning and education, she developed a sustainable approach to nutrition that fits her lifestyle:
"I still follow the guidelines and ideas provided when I started the transition. I started doing meal prep, and this was a major help in staying on the right track."

"When I started at Gobi, I could barely lift my arms above my shoulders. Now I can comfortably lift substantial weight, and I'm fit and stronger than ever before. I have great mobility, and my mindset is so much better."

"I am motivated to do things again which I couldn't do for a long time. I can wear 'normal' clothes again and feel good about looking good. My confidence is back, and I walk with my head held high."

"I allow myself some pleasures but within limitation and with balance. We're all different and there isn't a 'one size fits all' program, you have to find your own balance / routine and then stick to it."

"I want to still lose approx. 8-10kg while still building my strength and fitness levels, while maintaining healthy eating choices. This is how I live now, It's not just a diet that will end."

"Find the right people to help you on your journey. Having their support, knowledge and experience makes all the difference. You have to do the work but it's so much easier (and more fun) when you have the right people helping you and motivating you."
